Instead of subtracting birth years and ignoring whether a birthday has happened, it counts completed calendar years, months, and days as of the date you choose. What the age calculator shows

Years, months, and days
This is the normal calendar description of age. For example, 24 years, 7 months, and 12 days means those calendar units have been completed as of the selected date.
Total days and weeks
These totals count elapsed date-only days from the birth date to the calculation date. Weeks can include one decimal place because most ages are not an exact multiple of seven days.
Next birthday countdown
The tool finds the next birthday after the calculation date and reports the number of days remaining. February 29 birthdays use February 28 in a non-leap year.
Birth weekday
The result includes the weekday for the birth date. This is a calendar fact and does not change the age calculation itself.

How the exact age is calculated
The tool first treats both inputs as calendar dates rather than clock timestamps. It counts the number of complete months between the birth date and the calculation date, reduces that count by one when the last anniversary would fall after the selected date, and converts the remaining interval into days. This prevents a result from being off by one near a birthday.
For total days and weeks, the dates are represented with UTC calendar values and the elapsed interval is divided by one day. Using date-only UTC values avoids daylight-saving-time changes creating a misleading extra hour or missing hour. The displayed calendar age still uses years, months, and days because that is how people usually describe age.
A calendar age is not the same thing as biological age, apparent age, developmental age, or a legal age rule. Some organizations use a local cutoff time, end-of-day convention, or a specific reference date. Treat this result as a general date calculation and check the official rule when the decision has legal or financial consequences.
Edge cases and limitations
- A missing date produces an error instead of a partial estimate.
- A birth date after the calculation date is rejected because it cannot describe an age on that date.
- If the dates match, the result is zero years, zero months, and zero days.
- Leap years and February 29 are included in total-day calculations when the date is valid.
- The calculator uses dates only; it does not compare birth times, locations, or time zones.
- A typed date does not verify identity, prove a document is authentic, or establish legal eligibility.
